Great Seneca Science Corridor Planning

There is a lot of new development going on or soon to be going on in the Great Seneca Science Corridor which is part of Rockville. From the Montgomery Planning main page here you can navigate to look at different aspects of the plan. There is also a summary of different Life Science Centers being tracked including some of those we will look at below.

Today we have some photo with multiple angles of the 4 sites under development shown below.

Site 1 – 9810 Darnestown Road

Adjacent to the Universities at Shady Grove, which is also featured in these pictures, this new building is the first part of a larger plan for this property.

You can see the planning document for the whole plan here. Horizon Therapeutics signed a long term full building lease on this new building earlier this year.

From this location’s top floors there is an incredible view of Sugar Loaf Mountain

We also took a look at the Universities At Shady Grove which features some gorgeous architecture of it’s own.

Site 2 – 9710 Great Seneca Highway

The final plan can be seen here via Montgomery Planning.

The plan here includes 44.8 Acres – 276 townhomes, 56 2-over-2 units, and 298 apartments for a total of 630 dwelling units and 1740 of commercial use.

This will also be walkable to Trader Joes shopping center and food and other things there along with very close on the other side to CVS, 711, and Taco Bell.

For the development of the former safety training academy, the County selected The Elms at PSTA, LLC

It is in the early phases with clearing and beginning of construction.
