Montgomery County Comic & Cosplay Club
RisuCon is the annual meeting of the Montgomery County Comic & Cosplay Club, a non- profit 501(c)7 membership organization. Admission passes are membership dues in the organization and are used to fund future events and provide grants to high school students to take a college-level art class in anime/animation. The Montgomery County Comic & Cosplay Club has partnered with Superhero Support (https://superherosupport.org/), a 501(c)3 volunteer organization of cosplayers raising spirits, awareness, and funds for nonprofit causes to aid children and families. This yearโs focus is to support Prune Belly Syndrome (PBS) research to help a local family with a 10-year-old who has been through 45 surgeries and even more frequent ER visits. Funding this research can help reduce pain and suffering for this family and others living with PBS. Together, both organizations bring a passion for anime, cosplay, community, diversity, and inclusivity to RisuCon.
