Update On Previous DHHS Data Error Story – DHHS Corrects Data Error – Now Actually High Transmission According To CDC – 8/5/2022

Background

You may remember that on 7/22 there was a seemingly huge jump in covid positive hospital admissions

On 7/29 we posted an update which included multiple responses from DHHS and other government officials.

We maintained, despite resistance that there was likely either an error or it was a data dump (large amounts of data dropped at once despite actually taking place over longer time).

DHHS Corrects Historical Data

Now when you look at the DHHS dashboard, it also contains the following note added August 1 acknowledging the error and saying it has been corrected

NOTE: August 1, 2022: Due to a data source error, COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100k Residents (7-day total) appeared elevated from July 22-July 28, 2022. On August 1, 2022, a historical data correction was made to amend this error.”

Past Predictions

You can see here we predicted what ended up being the actual issue and helped catch this error by DHHS.
