Senate Races Called Already

The GOP Senate Race was called soon after results started coming in declaring Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan the Republican nominee.

On the Democratic side, it took at little longer but the race has now been called for PG County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. This is a little more surprising as it seemed like the race may take days to determine, but a strong final month along with several high-profile endorsements (Jamie Raskin and MD Governor Wes Moore among them) pushed her over the top.

Those two will now face off against each other in November in a race that will be sure to garner nation wide attention.

Congressional District 4 Races

April McClain Delaney has been called as the Democratic primary winner by the AP at 10:25pm 5/14/2024

Meanwhile, Neil Parrott was called as the GOP winner by the AP at 10:02pm 5/14/2024

MoCo Board of Education

Board of Election Results so far show distinct patterns. Remember top two in each race move on to face each other in the General Election in November.

The MCEA (Apple Ballot) came in strong with 2 of 3 endorsements in the lead strongly with the third likely to make the General Election. SEIU went with all 3 incumbents and it looks like at least 2 of them will make the General Election with one in the lead.

Results as of 10:45pm 5/14/2024:

BOE At Large looks to be locked up by Incumbent Lynne Harris and MCEA endorsed Rita Montoya

In BOE District 2 MCEA endorsed Natalie Zimmerman has the top spot locked up. Brenda Diaz is in second ahead of incumbent Rebecca Smondrowski but important to note the differences in Early Voting / Election Day (strong for Diaz) vs Mail-Ins (slight edge Smondrowski). This second spot in the general may come down to how many Mail-Ins vs In Person voters.

In District 4, again MCEA endorsed Laura Stewart has the first spot locked up with the incumbent Shebra Evans slightly ahead of challenger Bethany Mandel. There is a similar situation to the District 2 race where Mandel is ahead in election day votes and Evans is ahead in Mail-In ballots. However with more Mail-Ins likely to come out than additional election day votes and Evans already in the lead, this is looking more likely to go in her direction.
