The Montgomery County Taxpayers League is pleased to announce the election of its new president, Esther Wells, who began her tenure on April 5th, 2023.

Currently, she leads the State Indirect Tax Department of a multi-billion-dollar enterprise of companies based in Washington, DC, with a proven track record of monetizing multi-million-dollar savings opportunities.
Esther comes to us with more than six years of experience in Montgomery County, having served as the lead for tax controversy work such as property tax appeals with the MD State Department of Assessment and Taxation, which has generated material tax savings for stakeholders.
Esther received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business.
