About these races
Montgomery County has 4 of District 9’s 29 precincts, according to the State Board of Elections’ District 9 results page. Senators and delegates serve four-year terms beginning the second Wednesday of January, under Article III of the Maryland Constitution.
The Register of Wills seat is open. Paul J. Dollahite was appointed Dec. 10, 2025, to replace the late Joseph M. Griffin, according to the Maryland Manual, and his name is not on the State Board of Elections’ Montgomery County results page. The winner serves a four-year term.
Friedman’s name appeared on ballots statewide without an opponent. A yes vote keeps an Appellate Court judge in office for a 10-year term, under Article IV, Section 5A of the Maryland Constitution. Statewide results are on the State Board of Elections site.
Every other State Senate and House race on Montgomery County ballots, apart from District 9A, had no more candidates than seats; those winners are in our list of candidates elected unopposed.
What’s still to count
The Montgomery County Board of Elections resumes counting Thursday, Nov. 5, then counts Nov. 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to its canvass schedule. The board says the dates are subject to change.
Provisional ballots are counted at a later canvass. A mail-in ballot postmarked by Nov. 3 still counts if it is received by 10 a.m. Nov. 13, under state regulations. Results for every county race are on our live results page.
