Germantown October Fest Returns October 10, 2026 with Grammy-Nominated Nappy Roots, New Cultural Experiences, and Its Biggest Celebration Yet
Germantown, MD – One of Germantown’s favorite fall traditions is back and bigger than ever! On Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Germantown October Fest returns to the Germantown Town Center for an unforgettable day of free live music, culture, food, art, family fun, and community celebration.
This year’s festival raises the bar with exciting new attractions. The Live Stage, sponsored by Rappaport & BlackRock and MC’ed by MoCo Show’s Mr. MoCo, Alex Tsironis, features a headlining performance by 2x Grammy-nominated alternative Southern rap group Nappy Roots, bringing one of the festival’s biggest musical acts to date.
Building on the tremendous momentum of previous years, organizers expect more than 6,000 attendees to fill the Town Center for what is anticipated to be the largest Germantown October Fest in the festival’s history.
Over the past several years, Germantown October Fest has grown into one of Montgomery County’s premier community festivals, bringing together residents, local businesses, artists, nonprofit organizations, and cultural groups while generating increased visibility and economic activity for the Germantown Town Center. The festival continues to serve as a vibrant reflection of the community’s diversity, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
This year’s event also introduces an exciting partnership with the makers of the DMV’s premier African cultural marketplace, The G.A.M.E. (The Great African Market Experience). Guests will get a special mini showcase and preview of The G.A.M.E., featuring a curated selection of their vendors and a taste of the African artisans, businesses, fashion, art, cuisine, and cultural experiences that make up the larger marketplace.
Hosted by the Germantown Town Center, an initiative of the Gaithersburg Germantown Upcounty Chamber, in partnership with Montgomery County, BlackRock Center for the Arts, and numerous community organizations, October Fest continues to evolve as one of Montgomery County’s signature annual celebrations. “Germantown October Fest is an incredible opportunity to bring thousands of people into Germantown while creating meaningful visibility for our local businesses. I’m grateful that the County trusts us with funding to make this festival and other placemaking initiatives a reality,” said Paula Ross, President & CEO of the Gaithersburg Germantown Upcounty Chamber. “Events like this help strengthen connections between businesses, residents, and the broader community while showcasing everything Germantown has to offer.”
That spirit of connection is also reflected in the festival’s continued growth and expanded programming.
“October Fest is a celebration of community pride, cultural diversity, and local entrepreneurship,” said Zeina Davis, Program Director for the Germantown Town Center Initiative. “Each year we continue to grow, and this year’s festival is our most ambitious yet. From welcoming Grammy-nominated Nappy Roots to expanding our family experiences and celebrating cultures from around the world, we’re creating an event that truly reflects the energy, diversity, and creativity of Germantown.”
