2024 Rolling General Election Results for Montgomery County and Maryland

November 5, 2024 – Will be updated as more information comes in. More recent and relevant races will go toward the top with the rest being pushed down.

Last update around 10:35p.m. 11/5/2024

Overall Notes

Note that there are a LOT of votes still to count. Some leads are being called while others may take several days to resolve. We do our best to give you timely and accurate information. We use AP (Associated Press) calls as a basis for the national races and take that information into account when analyzing local races.

It looks like only 2 races remain tight so in the next update we’ll focus more on those. Read on to see the results.

Neil Parrott Leads Congressional District 6

As of 10:05pm on 11/5/2024, Republican Neil Parrott has a narrow but slowly growing lead (51.05% to 48.77%) over Democrat April McClain Delaney. When data first started coming in she had a slight lead but as more Election Day data came in he took the lead. What is interesting here is that while Parrott has a large lead in Election Day votes and a smaller but solid lead in Early Voting, McClain Delaney has about a 3 to 1 lead in mail in voting. This race may go the distance and looks like it will be the last to be called in Maryland.

10:05 pm 11/5/2024

Updated 12:17am 11/6/2024: McClain Delaney has basically caught up to Parrott and it is even with nearly all election day precincts reported. Combined with Mail-in ballots, this looks very likely to be a win for McClain Delaney.

MoCo BOE Races

At-Large

As of 10:13pm on 11/5/2024, Rita Montoya maintains a lead over incumbent Lynne Harris 52.84% to 46.2%. Montoya has a solid 33% lead in Election Day voting, and they are pretty close in mail-in voting so this lead will be hard to overcome for Harris but not impossible. This looks to be the closed BOE race so we’ll keep an eye on it as the night progresses.

10:13pm 11/5/2024

Update 12:17am 11/6/2024: Montoya strengthens her lead with mail in votes (close to a tie as of now) still to come.

12:17am 11/6/2024

District 2

As of 10:13pm on 11/5/2024, Natalie Zimmerman holds a strong lead over Brenda Diaz 56.40% to 42.98%. Zimmerman has leads in all 3 of Early, Election Day, and Mail-In voting so seems very likely to maintain that lead.

District 4

As of 10:13pm on 11/5/2024, Laura Stewart holds a strong lead over incumbent Shebra Evans 57.40% to 41.64%. Stewart has leads in all 3 of Early, Election Day, and Mail-In voting so seems very likely to maintain that lead.
