With such an incredibly small victory margin of JUST 42 VOTES, we wanted to do some images to show just small that margin is compared to the county population and registered voters.

Competing Claims Over Weekend By Elrich and Blair Teams

Both the Elrich and Blair teams sent out a PR message as the county Board of Elections (BOE) finished up counting votes today

Elrich Claims Victory Saturday Night

On Saturday night (8/6/2022), the BOE released data showing Elrich led by 42 and announcing that only 34 possible ballots remained.

Elrich posted claiming victory in the race at this point with the numbers not possible for him to lose:

Blair Says AP Still Says Too Close To Call; Recount Coming

Sunday Morning Blair states AP declared the race too closed to call and says they will be requesting a recount.

In Late Night Tweet, Elrich Responds To Recount Question With Many Typos

This led many commenters to question the state of the County Executive at the time and why the tweet was not deleted. Link here.
