David Blair Requests Recount

As reported by Steve Bohnel of Bethesda Beat, here is the requested order of recount:

The board of elections is only recounting ballots that they previously counted. Any ballots thrown out for any reason are not part of the recount. See below for more on that.

172 Contested Ballots Remain Uncounted

I have received confirmation from Board of Elections officials that in the end, there were 172 contested ballots that were not counted.

Nothing official more than that but what I have heard is that these ballots are under contestation due to them allegedly being deposited at the postal office in time but that due to staffing at the postal office and someone leaving early they did not end up post marked until later after the due date passed.

It seems that the Blair campaign would need to seek relief from the Montgomery County Circuit Court if they wanted to try to get them counted.

As of 6pm on Tuesday 8/16/2022 nothing new related to Blair was showing up in the case search.
