Why Are You Running For Office?
I’m running for re-election for two reasons: 1) to end the affordability crisis & bring down costs for Montgomery County families, and 2) to fight back against the Trump Administration as it seeks to erode our constitution and threaten our values.
What Is The Biggest Issue Facing Voters In This Race?
Affordability is the biggest issue facing voters right now. That’s why I’m fighting in the State Senate to lower costs and hold big corporations accountable. During this legislative session, we substantially reduced energy costs by cracking down on utility companies like Pepco, ending predatory rate hikes and stopping them from paying out big bonuses with ratepayer funds. We also made groceries cheaper by prohibiting the outlandish practice of surveillance pricing.
What Experience Best Prepares You For This Role?
As your local State Senator, I’m proud to show up whenever and wherever. I regularly knock on doors, attend neighborhood association meetings, bring my family to block parties, hold town halls, and chat with folks at the local grocery store. I also give out my personal cell for those who want to stay in touch: (301) 221-2696. I am always happy to help!
What Would You Like Voters To Know About You Personally?
Like you, I’m raising my family here in Montgomery County. My wife Joanna and I have three kids, all in our public schools. Whether it’s rising grocery prices, exploding Pepco bills, or the crazy hustle of kids’ activities, my family is facing the same issues as your family. My job is to help solve those problems to ensure our community is affordable, safe, and thriving.
