Why Are You Running For Office?
I’m running for the Board of Education because I’m a father of three MCPS daughters and I’ve seen firsthand both the strengths of our schools and where we must do better. I bring years of governance experience serving on boards, where I’ve overseen budgets, made tough decisions, and delivered results. As a small business owner, I understand accountability, efficiency, and how to manage complex systemsโskills MCPS needs right now. Most importantly, I’ve spent years advancing equity, working to ensure every childโno matter their backgroundโhas access to the opportunities they deserve.
What Is The Biggest Issue Facing Voters In This Race?
The most important issue in this race is restoring trust through strong, transparent leadership and real accountability, especially in how we manage resources and deliver results for students. My plan is to bring disciplined oversight to the budget, identify inefficiencies, and ensure more dollars reach classrooms. I will promote clear communication with families and increase engagement, so all voices are heard. I will also prioritize safe, well-maintained schools and student support services, including mental health. We must focus on outcomes, so every student has access to a high quality education and the support to succeed.
What Experience Best Prepares You For This Role?
I bring a combination of real-world management and public governance experience. As a small business owner, I’ve managed budgets, led teams, and made tough decisions to keep operations strong. I’ve also served on multiple boards, including the Montgomery College Board of Trustees, where I’ve helped oversee large budgets, long-term planning, and major institutional decisions. As Chair of the Workforce Development Board, I’ve built partnerships that connect education to careers. Just as important, I’m a father of three MCPS daughters, giving me a direct understanding of what students and families need to succeed.
What Would You Like Voters To Know About You Personally?
I want voters to know that everything I do is grounded in family, community, and service. I’m a father of three MCPS daughters, and that shapes how I approach every decision by focusing on what’s best for our children. I’m the son of immigrants, a small business owner, and someone who has spent decades working in this community. I’ve been alongside families, students, and educators year round, not just during election season. This is about doing the work, making tough decisions, and delivering real results for our community.
