Why Are You Running For Office?
Nationally, my party has forgotten about working-class people, the struggles we face, and our everyday challenges. In office, I will bring a unique perspective as a fighter for workers’ rights, a champion of small business, and an advocate for a more affordable life in Montgomery County.
What Is The Biggest Issue Facing Voters In This Race?
It is no secret that Maryland is facing a budgetary issue. With a budget issue, the question of raising taxes inevitably comes up. Middle-class Marylanders already face a steep tax rate, and combined with the issue of affordability in Montgomery County, it makes thriving in our community difficult. If elected, I will work with my colleagues to responsibly balance our budget, without increasing rates for middle-class taxpayers.
What Experience Best Prepares You For This Role?
As a single mother who raised two sons in our high-cost-of-living community, I don’t just understand the struggles; I have lived them. As a former high school teacher, I know what it means to fight for the future of our kids. I will bring opportunities for our youth to set them up for a happy and healthy life. Finally, as a small business owner, I understand that our small businesses are the driving engine of our local economy.
What Would You Like Voters To Know About You Personally?
If you reach out to me, I will always try to respond. I never forget where I came from.
