Maryland had a really good week vaccinating
The state (and county) both had a really good week getting needles in arms compared to previous weeks.
This chart shows each week Maryland is increasing the total number of doses given consistently.
We still want more but also need to be aware of supply limitations nationally and getting everyone second doses that needs them too – not overplaying our hand.
Estimated MD Immunity – Vaccinations Pass Tested Positive Cases
This Graphic takes into account vaccinations, positive cases, presumed positives, and deaths. What was very neat this week is that 1st Dose Vaccinations passed the total number of positives tested in Maryland since the pandemic began.
MD Counties – MOCO Still 3rd From Last In Proportion Of Population
Next up is a chart showing the percent of the population across Maryland counties that has had 2 doses. The methodology used was to add 1st dose plus 2nd dose numbers and divide by 2.
The thick light blue highlight is MOCO and the other dotted lines are the other largest counties. It is more fair to compare to these since smaller counties can easily achieve higher percent population numbers with way less shots.
However, you can see MOCO is 3rd from the bottom on this chart and well below the new black line for county averages. Not surprisingly, most of the larger counties are still lagging behind the average (other than Baltimore County).
MD Counties – MOCO Improves 2nd Ranked Position Relative To Others
This last chart shows the total number of vaccine doses given by each county in Maryland (1st and 2nd doses combined). Once again the most populated counties are highlighted.
As you can see MOCO (thick light green) has actually done much better this week but needs to keep increasing to get out of the bottom 3 for percent of population.
