Why Are You Running For Office?
To continue the work representing District 16 as we improve economic prosperity by supporting our schools, improving our transportation network, and remembering that our economic success must be environmentally sustainability.
What Is The Biggest Issue Facing Voters In This Race?
The impact of what is happening in Washington, D.C. is a huge issue in our county and state. However you voted in the last election or whatever you think of Maryland’s economy prior to January of 2025, what is happening now is hugely problematic for our area and its federal connections. Finding ways to respond, via litigation, policy changes, diversifying our economy and more, is really what the present and next few years is about.
What Experience Best Prepares You For This Role?
I have served on the House Appropriations Committee, chaired two subcommittees, served as Majority Leader, and now chair the Environment & Transportation Committee. Prior to taking office, I was involved in my community as a board member of the Bethesda Urban Partnership and the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board.
What Would You Like Voters To Know About You Personally?
I live in Bethesda with my wife and two kids, a 14 year old and 9 year old. We enjoy reading, movies, hiking, and baseball (well, my daughter enjoys the ice cream more than the baseball).
