Why Are You Running For Office?

I’m running for Delegate because I want to bring my decades of healthcare advocacy, public policy expertise, and community leadership experience to Annapolis to tackle rising costs, improve healthcare access, strengthen public safety, grow the economy, and protect democratic values. I have deep roots in Montgomery County and a track record of bringing people together to solve problems. I’ll be ready to deliver results for District 19 on day one.

What Is The Biggest Issue Facing Voters In This Race?

Maryland should be a place where families can afford to build a life, seniors can age with dignity, young people can see a future here, and small businesses can thrive. That means expanding access to affordable healthcare, strengthening public education, growing our economy beyond dependence on federal jobs, and protecting democratic values that make our communities strong and inclusive.

What Experience Best Prepares You For This Role?

My professional and community leadership experience has prepared me well to serve as a Delegate from District 19.

Professionally, I serve as Executive Director of both the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs and the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists. In these roles, I work with healthcare professionals, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders across the country to advocate for effective public policy, manage complex organizations, build consensus among diverse groups, and ensure that critical services meet the needs of the communities they serve.

My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Political Management from The George Washington University, a Master of Public Administration from Southern Illinois University, and certification as a Nonprofit Executive. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in public policy, budgeting, governance, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.

Just as importantly, I have spent years serving our local community. I have served as a Democratic precinct chair, President of the Kemp Mill Civic Association, Chair of the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board, a member of the Wheaton Urban District Committee Board, and a board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council. Through these roles, I have worked directly with residents, businesses, community organizations, and government agencies to solve problems, improve neighborhoods, and advocate for our shared priorities.

In addition, I have chaired and managed numerous local and state Democratic campaigns in Montgomery County and across Maryland, giving me firsthand experience listening to voters, understanding community concerns, and building coalitions to achieve results.

Together, my professional leadership, public policy expertise, and long record of community service have prepared me to be an effective advocate for District 19 and to deliver results on behalf of the people I hope to represent in Annapolis.

What Would You Like Voters To Know About You Personally?

I’m a trusted community advocate, with several leadership and work-induced experiences improving schools, public safety, and neighborhood infrastructure for Montgomery County residents. I’m a lifelong Democrat, and my wife Lisa and I have lived in Kemp Mill for over 25 years, raising our four children and are now, proud grandparents.
