With mail in ballots already going out, and lots of questions about candidates across social media, I wanted to provide links to all of the different election sources for people to make informed decisions.
Out of transparency, we are not doing endorsements this year but we did host/co-host two Board of Education forums since our focus is education and sent out a short answer survey to all 6 finalists.
First off, you can take a look at our 2024 primary election guide for loads of information about the candidates. Obviously not everyone made it through the primary so now let’s go into more details about those who did.
Vote 411
The League of Women’s voters provides a voters guide each election with information about all of the positions up for election and information submitted by many/most candidates. Click the link to look up what positions are on your ballot based on your address.
MoCo360 (formerly Bethesda Beat) Voters Guide
MoCo360 has a Voters Guide for most of the positions up for election which you can see here.
Board of Education
If you know our blog, you know that education is one of our biggest focuses.
We cosponsored a general election forum with 4 of the 6 candidates after hosting our first in person event in the primary which was a massive success (the same 4 of 6 general election candidates attended)
We also sent candidates a short answer survey that we will be putting out soon hopefully everyone will answer. I’ll add that here when links come in.
You can see more about the other races at the link above from MoCo 360 since we didn’t cover them as much and we may also do another post with more basic information on the ballot questions. I know that mail in ballots are already here and we’re a bit behind but very happy with being one of the only organizations to do a 2024 General Election BOE forum before they arrived. There will be several more over the next 2-3 weeks.
