MCPS Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor on Boundaries, Closures, and Budget Pressures

Thomas Taylor, Superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools, sat down for the first episode of Moderately Mic’d to address the decisions and pressures shaping one of the largest school districts in the country.

The January 23 conversation covered the ongoing boundary studies that have drawn intense attention from families across the county, the long-term facility planning that includes potential school closures, and the budget priorities driving resource allocation in a system facing both enrollment pressure and financial constraints.

Boundary studies have become a flashpoint as MCPS weighs how to balance enrollment, capacity, and equity across schools.
