Montgomery County Public Schools’ online feedback form for its school closure and consolidation study closes Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11:59 p.m., according to the study’s website. The first round of in-person and virtual sessions ends Monday, Nov. 2; the form stays open two more days.
Where to go: the community feedback form on mcpsstudy.org. The site also has interactive tools showing which elementary and middle schools have features such as dedicated art, music and PE teachers, no portable classrooms and buildings in good condition.
What comes next
The study covers elementary and middle schools. No school has been picked for closure, MCPS said last week, as Moderately MOCO reported. The timeline on the study’s website:
- Nov. 30 to Dec. 10: a second round of community sessions, four virtual and six in person
- Feb. 4, 2027: the superintendent’s recommendation to the Board of Education
- February to April 2027: one public hearing for each school recommended for closure
- April 15, 2027: the Board’s decision
- Fall 2029: any closures, consolidations and boundary changes take effect, at the start of the 2029-30 school year
